GSA Launches Government-Wide Vehicle Coding and License Plate Replacement Initiative

MONROVIA, Liberia – The General Services Agency (GSA) has officially commenced a comprehensive vehicle coding and license plate mounting exercise for all Government of Liberia (GOL) vehicles. This initiative, which began on October 28, 2024, at the EJS Ministerial Complex, aims to establish a standardized system for vehicle identification, enhance accountability, and create an integrated database for the entire government fleet.

Following a prior announcement to all Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions (MACs), the GSA's Fleet Management team is now executing the full replacement of old license plates with new ones, alongside vehicle coding and data entry. The program has already processed vehicles from several key institutions, including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Liberia Revenue Authority, Ministry of Public Works, and the General Auditing Commission.

This critical initiative supports the government's broader effort to regulate and curtail the unauthorized movement of GOL vehicles outside the capital. The GSA urges all remaining MACs to ensure their full and timely compliance with this mandatory exercise to avoid potential complications and penalties.
