Director General of GSA, Hon. Galakpai W. Kortimai, Engages IMF on Strengthening Government Asset Management and Climate Resilience
Monrovia, Liberia - On February 26, 2025, The Director General of the General Services Agency (GSA), Hon. Galakpai W. Kortimai, led a high-level discussion with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to discuss the operational framework of the GSA, its ongoing challenges, and the agency’s crucial role in protecting government assets.
During the meeting, Hon. Kortimai highlighted the progress made by the GSA in asset management, procurement, and maintenance of government properties. He also outlined the challenges facing the agency, including resource constraints and the need for improved infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency.
The discussions emphasized the significant role the GSA plays in ensuring transparency and accountability in the management of public assets. Hon. Kortimai further underscored the agency’s commitment to incorporating climate-conscious policies into its operations. He noted that the GSA is actively working on sustainable asset management strategies to align with global efforts in addressing climate change, including energy-efficient government buildings and eco-friendly procurement policies.
The IMF delegation acknowledged the vital role of the GSA in safeguarding government assets and recognised the challenges it faces. They expressed appreciation for the agency’s efforts and affirmed their commitment to supporting the Government of Liberia's initiatives.
Hon. Kortimai was accompanied at the meeting by Hon. Johnson P. Sloan, Deputy Director General for Administration; Mr. Fransco Dutor, Fleet Director; and Mr. William K. Kokulo, Special Assistant to the Director General.
